TIME OF BREAKTHROUGH
The dictionary defines breakthrough as: a sudden, dramatic, important development, discovery or innovation. Let’s look at the word sudden and dramatic –
– Sudden because it’s quick, perhaps unanticipated or abruptly. Example – The children of Israel were asked to leave Egypt in the middle of the night. It was sudden, It came after a prolonged resistance and stubbornness from Pharaoh. It was a result of God killing the firstborns of the Egyptians. God touched Pharaoh where he couldn’t resist. Bondage / slavery running into decades came to an end after the Passover night. God knows how to touch where it is painful.
– Dramatic because a lot of twists and drama had been involved. The children of Israel had actually given up hope on whether Pharaoh would let them go. 9 plagues had been done and Pharaoh was not bulging. But God decided to strike with the final deadly blow and bring it all to an end.
In our main scriptures today: David painted a picture of water that has been dammed or restrained. (You are that dammed water…. perhaps there has been resistance to God’s agenda for you). The restrained water generates a massive amount of pressure because of the artificial resistance and not being free to move. But suddenly there is a breach, the dam walls breaks and the water escapes with tremendous power. So David called the place Baal Perazim. Baal Perazim means the Lord / master of breakthrough….It can also mean the place / point of my breakthrough. David said: ‘Like water breaches, God broke against his enemies’. Well, there is someone reading this that this fasting and prayer will signify your Baal Perazim (The place / point where God breaks out against every resistance in your life) and it will be before the year runs out… IJN.
