Hebrews 12: 1 -2 (KJV)
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

GRACE FOR FINISHING WELL
It is a good thing to finish whatever you start. It’s not good for a project to be abandoned midway. We call God the Alpha and Omega – The A and the Z, The beginning and the ending. This is because he is the one that holds the power of a new start or beginning. He also holds the power to end what has been started. It is not sufficient to pray for new breakthroughs alone, we must receive power to finish what has been started. It’s also not good enough to just finish (limp over the finishing line) but we must finish well (with a flourish). God wants you to finish well whatever you have started.
In our text today, Paul says: He is confident (assured, positive, optimistic) that He who started the good work in our lives (the Alpha), will perform it (Omega it) until the day of Jesus. So until either Jesus comes back for the saints or you die and go on to be with the Lord, you are not meant to leave any God ordained project unfinished. The grace of the Alpha and Omega on your life means that you not only finish what you start. It also means you finish it very well.
