OBEDIENCE, PRACTISE AND GROWTH

The Word:  Hebrews 5: 13 (KJV)

13 For everyone who lives on milk is [doctrinally inexperienced and] unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a spiritual infant.

Dig Deeper:
Hebrews 5: 14
(KJV)

14 But solid food is for the [spiritually] mature, whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil.

Think about it
OBEDIENCE, PRACTISE AND GROWTH….
We ‘ve been studying the 7 characteristics of living things: Respiration, Nutrition, Excretion, Sensitivity, Movement, Growth, Reproduction. Let’s look deeper into the art of movement today.

We said movement represents action…. And action spiritually can be symbolic of obedience. Stirring up to do God’s instruction. Obedience can be quite simple. Just do what God wants you to do in that situation. Maybe he wants you to keep quiet, then keep quiet. There is no substitute for obedience. Definitely not prayer, not fasting, not giving God gifts. God does not want substitutes. He wants simple obedience

1 Samuel 15: 22

22 Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obedience to the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed [is better] than the fat of rams.

Obedience though needs to be practised. It may not appear logical or straightforward. But the key is just doing it all thesame without over analysing the promptings. A lot of the instructions will just float up in our spirit. If you don’t do anything with it, it goes away for a while. It may come up again. But we then need to pay attention and tell ourselves: It seems God is trying to get my attention.

Are there promptings you haven’t done anything about?

Our memory verse for February
2 Peter 3: 18
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Let’s take a few moment to learn our memory verse for this month by heart. It can be memorised in 3 lines:
Line 1: But Grow in grace,
Line 2: And in the knowledge of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
Line 3: To him be glory both now and for forever.

Once you say it a few times it will stick.
Prayer focus:  I receive grace for obedience, promptly IJN.
