The Word: Deuteronomy 2: 2 – 3(KJV)
2 And the Lord spake unto me, saying, 3 Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.
Dig Deeper: Deuteronomy 2: 24(KJV)
24 Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

CONTENDING – POSSESSING THE NEXT LEVEL
Very direct scriptures today:
So we know God said we have been around the mountain for too long – Deuteronomy 2: 2 – 3
However in verse 24 of thesame scriptures God says: (my paraphrase)
Rise up, I have given unto you the land of Sihon the Amorite, King of Heshbon, begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.
In other words after a time of prayers (and we will still pray until our joy is full)
But God is saying: It’s also time for strategic action (Contending and taking possession)
What does it mean to contend?
It means to:
– Grapple with, resist, withstand, fight with, wrestle with, confront….
For you to contend, you need to be assertive, bold and be confrontational….. Well that is the attitude. God says its time for that.
What does it mean to possess?
It means to:
– Take ownership, control, dominate
Well that is what God is asking us to do by his power moving on from this time till the year ends. He wants us to contend and possess.
Contending prayerfully, strategically, physically and taking possession, that is what God wants us to do – moving forward
Nuggets:
We to be confrontational and assertive over any thing that won’t allow the next level
