THE WORD BECAME FLESH

The Word: John 1: 1 – 5(KJV)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

THE WORD BECAME FLESH

From our text today, Apostle John introduces us to a number of facts about the word:
In the beginning was the word: God’s word has always existed from the dateless past, from eternity past.
And the word was with God: The word has always been in the presence of the father
And the word was God: So the word has a physical identity. The word is actually God
– The same was in the beginning with God:
– All things were made by him: The word is the fabric from which everything was made. When you have clothes, it can be made from cotton or wool. The word is the fabric from which all things were made. Everything made came out of God.
–  In him was life; In God’s word is life. There is no other life anywhere. All life originated from the word
The life was the light of men: Light is a by product of the life of God encountered through the word. The more word we have, the more light we experience. The word of God is the source of light to humanity. God’s word brings light and illumination to our hearts
The light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not: When the light of the word is alive in us, darkness cannot overcome it. In other words, witches are not powerful, principalities and demons are subject to the word
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us: We can feed on the word so much that it is digested and becomes part of our being. We can enjoy not only the omnipresent power of God, we can enjoy his indwelling presence
And we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father: The word of God carries glory and beauty
God’s word is full of grace and truth: The more of the word we have, the more grace and truth we enjoy.

God does not want us to just say the word or hear the word, he wants the word to become indwelling in us and for us to live the word.

Until the word becomes flesh, there can be no entrance or insight

REVISTING THE PROMISES FOR THIS YEAR
As we have come to a weekend of seeking God and in a month of focus on God’s word, it is important to appreciate that God’s prophecy or promises are equally as powerful or potent as the scriptures.
The bible is documented promises or words inspired by the Holy Spirit. A direct word to the house is a Rhema (word in real time) which is equally as powerful and relevant for our year.

Our father said this year is our year of NEXT LEVEL and we said NEXT LEVEL is changing position upwards, moving to the next stage spiritually, physically, maritally as a Church and in every spect of our lives. But for many of us and the church does it look like next level right now? Perhaps many will answer: NO

For some people it might even look like a lower level. But we must not forget that God said we should be expectant of four things.
– New things. He will do New things
– Restructuring. Our lives will need to be restructured and reorganised
– It’s OK to take a step back in order to leap forward
– He will take away all reproach.

Remember Haggai 2:9 The glory of the latter shall be greater than the former. It may not yet look like NEXT LEVEL but God’s word is settled forever. That is what he said. Let’s key in and align ourselves to this.
