6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

O THOU THAT ANSWERS PRAYERS
By the grace of God, we are starting our annual season of 21 days of fasting and prayers today – 30th October – 19th November. The overall theme for this fasting period is PRAYING FOR GRACE. The word grace has kept coming back and it’s not only for now but even in the new year which is 2 months away. Operating under grace can make a massive difference in the life of an individual. So our overall objective is to bring down and connect to unusual grace.
Psalm 65: 2 – ‘O thou that answers prayers unto you shall all flesh come’
A time of fasting is a time of solitude
A time of fasting is a time to renew grace…..
A time of fasting is a time of deep spiritual intimacy
A time of fasting is a time of recovery
A time of fasting is a time of divine appointment
A time of fasting is a time of favour…..
God is waiting for you. When we are going on prolonged fasting it’s a time of quietness. Less talking so you can hear God clearly. It’s a time of sacrifice. You give out as a seed to your desired harvest. It’s not a time of fighting, avoid strife as much as possible. Resist the temptation to argue and quarrel.
Pregnant women and people with long term ailment may not undertake long fasts. Everyone is encouraged to fast till around 2-3 pm daily. If you can do longer like 6pm or dry fasting, by all means please do so. Increased spiritual intensity could actually determine the speed of answers. Dry fasting will however require drinking water once it’s prolonged over 3 days
Again: O thou that answers prayers….Your father is waiting for you
Have your goals clearly written out in this period. Stick to it. And your prayers will be answered IJN.
