The Word: Hebrews 10: 7 (KJV)

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Dig DeeperJohn 6: 38(KJV)

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Think about it

DOING GOD’S WILL
‘Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat;’
Every God chaser must be prepared to do the will of the father.

What is the will?
Our will is our preference, Our will is our desire. So God’s will is what he wants in a given situation.

One of the greatest gifts God gave man is a free will. But in the pursuit of God we submit our will to his will. Though man has a free will but there is consequence for our choices and decisions. And our choices and decisions determines the future we create for ourselves. If we want the best for ourselves, our best bet is always to align to the will of the father because he knows best. Jesus constantly said he was not here to do his own will but to do the will of the father. You and I are also not here to do our own will. Rather we are here to do the will of the father. Sometimes, God’s preference may seem the longer or difficult route but it’s always the best option. At Gethsemane, Jesus dreaded the death on the cross, it was going to be painful, he wasn’t looking forward to it, a few times he prayed if it was possible that he doesn’t have to die but he then said not my will but yours be done:

Luke 22: 42

41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

In other words, there atimes when it may seem God’s way is more difficult. What about when you could tell a quick lie and it would be easier to cover everything up but the Holy Spirit says NO. What about when following the world’s pattern is the easier option but God says NO. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Following God’s will is better than prayer and fasting. A simple act of obedience can be very rewarding and save us painful and wasted time

Matthew 7: 21
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

We are not even guaranteed to make heaven without following the will of the father. Once we know his will whether in marriage issues, career etc Our answer should always be YES LORD.

Nuggets:
Every pursuer of God ultimately loves to do the will of the father.
