The Word: Hebrews 4: 12(KJV)
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

TRANSFORMATION OF THE SOUL
Man consists of the spirit, soul and body. We have confirmation of this all of the scriptures. In atleast 4 scriptures, reference is made to these components
1 Thessalonians 5: 23
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
3 John 1: 2
2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Genesis 2: 7
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
From these 4 scriptures, There is confirmation without a shadow of doubt because those 3 components (Body, Soul and Spirit) are mentioned within thesame verse.
Some people say the Spirit is most important, followed by the Soul and lastly the body. That statement may not be correct.
The body:
If you lose your body, then you lose your legal right to stay on earth. You are no longer relevant to God’s agenda on this side of the planet. You then have to leave the earth. Your body is very important while you are here. You have got to keep it.
The Soul:
This seems to be key to the other 2 components. Your soul can be the gate way to your spirit. What you feed your mind affects your emotion, character and decisions. This is the melting pot, the place of will and decisions. This is where directions are decided. It is the battlefield. Central to your soul is your thoughts. As a man thinks so is he …(Proverbs 23: 7) If you think positive, you will exhibit a strong spirit and enjoy positive results. If you think negatively, you will exhibit a poor spirit and experience negative results. If you see a very outgoing, positive person and a negative fearful person, the difference between them is how they think (their thought pattern) If you can manage to change the thought pattern of a depressed person, you can get them out of that oppression. What we think and how we think is super important to our purpose, destiny and how our lives pan out. (Phillipians 4: 8)
The Spirit:
Our spirit allows us to connect to the spiritual world. The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord. Through the spirit we receive revelations (Proverbs 20: 27). It’s our spirit man that becomes born again (John 3: 3-6). When we give our lives to Jesus, our spirit man is re-created (2 Corinthians 5: 17). But our body is thesame, our soul is also thesame
If we will ever achieve our life goals, if we will ever become who God wants us to become, then we have no option than to feed our soul with the right information, so we can be transformed
