THIRST FOR HOLY SPIRIT INFILLING
In our pursuit of God, we started talking about 7 kinds of thirst. We briefly discussed 2 types of thirst yesterday: Thirst for righteousness and thirst for holiness. Today let’s talk about thirst for the Holy Spirit infilling. Several scriptures helps us to understand that God wants us to filled with the Holy Spirit:
– Joel 2: 28: In the last days I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh……
– John 14: 16: I will pray the father, He will give you another comforter…
– Luke 24: 49: I am sending the promise of my father, tarry ye in Jerusalem until ye be endued with power from on high
John 7: 37 – 39
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. 39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
– Acts 2: 4: And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were in one place in one accord and suddenly there was a sound of a mighty rushing wind from heaven….
Ephesians 5: 18: Don’t be drunk with wine but be filled with Holy Spirit
God wants to baptise us with the Holy Spirit. After baptism, we still needs to be constantly refilled with the Holy Spirit. It’s like a top up again and again. Are we thirsty to be refilled again?
