The Word: John 14: 10(KJV)
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Dig Deeper:
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Think about it
THE SPIRIT OF THE FATHER!
We have been talking about the Holy Spirit as part of our new birth series.
– The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the father……
He is part of the father, the essence of the father, the father in fluid motion….
The father is always seated on the throne, yet you find his Spirit in operation like in Genesis 1: 2 when the Holy Spit brooded upon the earth. So you look at the throne, you see the father seated on his throne in the midst of worship, yet you look at other places on earth and you find his Spirit in operation at thesame time. The Holy Spirit is the father in operation in different places at thesame time! The mystery of the Holy Spirit allows the father to be everywhere at thesame time (Omnipresent)
Jesus said something profound in one our of our texts today:
‘the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works’
‘…. The father that dwelleth in me…. How does the father dwell in Jesus?
Very simple: Through the Holy Spirit.
By Jesus saying ‘the father that dwelleth in me’ He is technically referring to the Holy Spirit as his father.
But from a human point of reasoning, we know the Holy Spirit is not exactly his father. Why would Jesus make this statement? Jesus said this because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the father. The Holy Spirit carries the essence of the father. So when the Holy Spirit fills me up, I am not filled with just a random spirit, Rather I am filled with thesame essence of the father that created everything, who also seats on the throne.
Can I say this Ladies n Gent: When God breathed into man in Genesis 2: 7, What he did was he breathed his Spirit (the Holy Spirit into man). A part of God was deposited into Adam. The first man possessed God’s Spirit, He was a partaker of Divine nature until sin came.
That Divine nature is what the father wants to restore by baptising us again in his Spirit. But unless we soak in his presence: basking in worship, we may not experience that filling he wants us to enjoy. We have been fasting for a while and when fasting goes on for a while, we could be a bit tired or lose concentration, but one thing I’ve been doing is just soaking in worship….. It’s not even about asking for stuffs, It’s just about listening to worship, letting it overwhelm and soak you, then let your spirit bless him in your own way
Nuggets:
It will be great if we can just bask in his presence for the remaining days of this fasting
Our memory verse for Jebruary 2018
John 3: 3
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Let’s take a few moment to learn our memory verse for this month by heart. It can be memorised in 2 lines:
Line 1: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Line 2: Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Once you say it a few times it will stick.
Prayer focus: Our prayers for the next level project:
Let’s just bask in his presence, praying in tongues…..
