The Word: Philippians 2: 5 -6(KJV)
1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Think about it
RIGHT EVALUATION OF SELF & OTHERS
We said to truly follow Christ, we need to learn to think like him. Part of thinking like him is to have the right valuation of self & ourselves. God does not want us think over highly of ourselves, neither does he want us to think down of ourselves. He wants us to think soberly about who we are & his grace upon our lives. Jesus is our role model. He had a balanced view of himself: He did not think it robbery or wrong to be equal or in thesame class as God, yet he returned all the glory to the father. He humbled himself even to the death of the cross. Humility is not negative complex or thinking too low about ourselves. Humility is thinking in a balanced way about ourselves. That is the way Jesus always thought….
Our text says:
that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind…..
but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
– Same Love
– Being in one accord – unity
– Lowliness of mind – humility
Every organisation, household, gathering where love is present, unity is in abundance and there is humility you have thrown out Satan. Strife cant be allowed. If we can imbibe Jesus way of thinking, then we are over 50% of the way towards becoming like him.
Nuggets:
Without learning to think like Jesus, we can never truly be conformed to him.
Our memory verse for March 2018
Luke 9: 23
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Let’s take a few moment to learn our memory verse for this month by heart. It can be memorised in 3 lines:
Line 1: And he said to them all,
Line 2: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
Line 3: and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Once you say it a few times it will stick.
Prayer focus: Our next level prayers:
Lord please me to think of myself soberly in a balanced way
