The Word: Deuteronomy 30: 19(KJV)
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Dig Deeper: Colossians 1: 9 (KJV)
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

LEARNING TO FOLLOW GOD’S WILL
So we learn discipleship through prayers. We spoke about copying Jesus in prayers yesterday. So let’s talk about following God’s will or plan.
Revelations 1: 8
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Isaiah 46: 10
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
So we generally say God knows the end from the beginning. Someone once asked me: ‘if God knows the end from the beginning, then technically I am not responsible for my actions since it’s all predestined or pre-programmed anyway’
Hmmm…….
The balanced answer is that: It’s true that certain things are set in stone. God determines how he wants certain course of history to follow and we can’t really change those. Example:
– God told Abraham: his descendants will be in Egypt for 400yrs
– God showed his plans to Pharaoh about 7yrs of plenty and 7yrs of famine
– God created Pharaoh and hardened his heart to demonstrate his power to the Israelites
– God had decided the children of Israel were going to be in captivity for 70years
Those stereotyped plans of God are somewhat set in stone. We can’t do much about them, we can only align ourselves to them.
However the majority of God’s blueprint requires my will. It is important to learn as a disciple to discern and pick up God’s plan for us and follow it. Even though God may want to make a mansion out of my life. It’s ultimately my decision that determines whether a mansion will be built or whether it will be a hut.
‘that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life,’
My choice is important. Majority of God’s plan over my life are not set in stone. We say God knows the end from the beginning because God is never caught surprised. God knows the different permutations that can come out of my life. But my actions is what determines the ultimate direction.
How do I know God’s plan?
– Through Prayers
– Through the word
– By being sensitive in the Spirit

Our memory verse for March 2018
Luke 9: 23
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Let’s take a few moment to learn our memory verse for this month by heart. It can be memorised in 3 lines:
Line 1: And he said to them all,
Line 2: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
Line 3: and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Once you say it a few times it will stick.
Prayer focus: Our next level prayers:
Lord please teach me to discern your plans for my life and follow it
