STRATEGIC PLANNING
April 24, 2020

The Word: Luke 14: 28 (KJV)

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?0

Dig Deeper:

Luke 14: 29 – 30  (KJV)

29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

Think about it

STRATEGIC PLANNING
This is part of the Vision series:
Will be talking n praying with the men on conference call 8:45pm tonight, On Sunday 7th, we will be looking into goal setting in church and on 12th Friday night (workers collaboration evening), we’ll be looking into a seminar / prayer session of planning for the year. Don’t miss any of these sessions if you can.

I mentioned last year that next level is not only about the church but it’s about taking that next step in every aspect of our lives: family, career, spiritual etc. One of the key ingredients to taking that step is what we call: strategic planning.

When Charles Spurgeon was old, he was asked a question: ‘If you have the opportunity to live your life again, what would you do different?’
His answer was simple: ‘If I am a lumber and I need to cut trees. I will spend 90% of my time sharpening my axe. And only 10% of my time cutting the trees’

In other words, he will take more time to just pause and think (not worry). Thinking can be very powerful when the Holy Spirit takes over our thoughts. It can bring to us the right ideas on how to progress to the next level. More planning, less activities always makes progress faster. You don’t lose time by pausing to plan. You actually gain time on the long run. Planning will make our lives more beautiful this year.

Ecclesiaste 10:10
10 If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

Will be elaborating on the ingredients of planning in the next few days but let’s start from this: What are your plans for 2018?

What are the areas where you want to step into the next level this year? We each need to have our list. Statistics have shown that planning ahead ensures better chances of success. Can you just take some hours off from your busy activities to be quiet and put some things down in your diary / ipad. If we do not plan properly, we have unconsciously planned to fail.

Nuggets:
A vision is not complete until the plan is written down.

Our memory verse for January 2018
Habakkuk 2: 2

And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

Let’s take a few moment to learn our memory verse for this month by heart. It can be memorised in 2 lines:
Line 1:  And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision,
Line 2and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

Once you say it a few times it will stick.

Prayer focus: Our prayers for the next level project:
Thank you Lord Jesus for 2018
