Dig Deeper: 1 John 5: 14 – 15(KJV)
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

SOAKING GOALS IN PRAYERS
What are goals?
Things we are aiming for are defined as goals. Our targets, objectives, desired result, intents are what we call goals. As believers the first step to achieving our goals is to synchronize it with God’s plan. Put in a better way, we shouldn’t have goals that is not in line with God’s plans. We should always ask the question: Are my desires and goals in line with God’s plans for me? There is also a way we can be sensitive and just watch whether God is opening a door or closing a door. I do that all the time and it can be useful in confirming what God wants to do about a situation.
So after we have made the effort to align our objectives with God’s plans, there is the need to soak those goals in prayers. In other words, a lot of continuous faith based prayers. Not prayers of doubt. But prayers of thanksgiving, trust in God, declaring and calling forth those plans so that they can eventually materialize.
Our text today says:
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
There are a few striking words in that text:
1. Commit – The word commit in that context is to pray. It also means to shift the responsibility of performance or to obligate. Next Level requires committing to the one who is able to bring it to pass.
2. Trust – The word trust signifies belief or faith. We must learn not to pick up things we have handed over to him again through worry. If we committed it to him, surely he has the responsibility.
3. He shall bring it to pass – When the responsibility is given to him and trust is in place, then he is obliged to do it.
