The Word: Isaiah 46: 9 – 10 (KJV)
9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

REMEMBER THE FORMER THINGS
Still on Vision, Planning, Strategies, Goals, Timing
In Isaiah 43:18 – 19; We are told not to remember the former things and that God would do new things. However in Isaiah 46:9; We are told to remember the former things of old. That sounds like a contradiction. But it is not a contradiction. God wants us to be selective in what we remember or what we focus on. In other words God does not want me to dwell on past failures, hurts and disappointments, he wants me to let those things go. However God wants me to remember his goodness. because past testimonies are the springboard for future miracles…..Psalm 103: 2
So God wants me to bring to mind the times he has answered my prayers in the past. He wants me to remember when he parted the red sea. He wants me to bring to memory when he made a way, where there seemed to be no way because past testimonies become faith magnet for future miracles.
So going forward in our text: God starts to talk about himself:
for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: 11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
The encouraging part is that God said: I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
So he is the one who promised, he is the one who is able, he is also the one that will do it.
