THE ART OF EXCRETION….

2 Timothy 2: 20
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
The scriptures refer to the believer as vessels in several places….
What is a vessel?
A vessel is mainly a container that can be used for various purposes. Apostle Paul however mentioned that some containers are made of gold, some of silver, some are wood, some are clay.
Important facts:
1. Depending on the type of material the vessel is made of, some refining or purification process may be required.
2. God is not in the habit of using dirty vessels. Unless we are purified, we won’t be of any use to God.
3. The purification process can be slow and uncomfortable. When gold is dug up from the earth, it is raw. It is of no use and requires the gold to be passed through a furnace at very high temperature. God will use both the negative and positive scenarios of our lives to purify and mould us. God will sometimes allow certain challenges to humble us, correct our bad habits, train us in righteousness and purify us for his service.
4. We can choose to cooperate with the purification process or we can choose to rebel. If we refuse to learn, we experience stunted growth. until we pass the test, we can’t go to the next level. The quicker we learn our lessons, the better it is for us….
