⁸ But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

POWER OF CONSECRATION

Stepping into the next level starts with a deep desire and consecration to move up. There is a saying that you can force a donkey to the stream but you can’t force it to drink water……

Unless there is a burning desire for our lives to step up, we won’t be able to pay the sacrifice required. A deep hunger allows the inconvenience required to seem as nothing. A deep desire makes sacrifice enjoyable.

In our text today: But Daniel purposed in his heart.……..He made up his mind, He had a strong resolution, an immovable determination. Every time a life is getting ready to break out of demonic restriction and move in the right direction, power is required and for power to be made available, sacrifice is required. But what fuels our sacrifice is our hunger, our desire, our consecration. When we speak about Next Level, there are many steps involved. Someone can take one step up. Another person may take 5 steps. How many steps we take up is a function of our consecration and desire….. 

But Daniel purposed in his heart…….. The point we purpose in our hearts is usually the turning point. It is the point when our lives start to move in the right trajectory. So until there is strong resolve, there can’t be a next level. Enoch moved to the next level when he became 300 years. Then he kept moving to the next level for 65 years until he got to a stage that the only next level remaining was to step out of this planet because he had grown very close to God. You can go as far as you want with God in 2018. But your consecration is  the starting point
