8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.

A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

MY LIGHT HAS COME.
This is a word of encouragement for someone. As we come to the end of November after the period of fasting and prayers. God word to someone is that your light has come…. Our text today: Isaiah 58 talks about the kind of fasting and prayers that God desires. And one of the advantages of such fasting and prayers is that your light breaks forth…..So you can be assured based on God’s word that your light has come.
1 – But what is light?
– Light represents illumination
– Light represents enlightenment or understanding in an area of life
– Light represents direction
– Light is the opposite of darkness (evil, wickedness, corruption, sin)
So when your light comes, illumination comes, enlightenment comes, direction comes, deliverance comes
2 – What is the source of light?
Many scriptures back up the revelation that God is the primary source of light..
1 John 1: 5 – God is light and in him there is no darkness at all
Psalm 84: 11 – The Lord God is a sun and shield, He will give grace and glory. No good thing will he withhold from those that walks uprightly
Genesis 1: 1-2 – There was darkness upon the face of the earth. God said let there be light.
Psalm 27: 1 – The Lord is my light I shall not fear
John 1: 5 – In him was light and the light was the light of men. The light shines in darkness and darkness cannot overcome it
So God is the source of light.
3 – My light has come
But the word says, my light has come. Meaning everybody else may be under darkness but I am exempted. I carry thesame light that God carries.
Isaiah 60: 1 – Arise and shine for your light has come
Isaiah 58: 8 – Then shall my light break forth as the morning.
4 – Let my light shine….
Now that my light has come, I need to let is shine. so everyone can glorify my father in heaven.
Matthew 4: 14 – Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid
God wants me to allow my light to shine. God wants me to pray for the sick. God wants me to witness to the unsaved, God wants me to be a blessing with what he has give. God does not want me to hide his light over my life
