The Word: Jeremiah 29: 13 (KJV)

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Dig DeeperRevelations 3: 20(KJV)

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

KEYS TO DIVINE FELLOWSHIP
‘Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat;’

A thirst for Divine fellowship is one of the 7 kinds of thirst we said we need to crave for. It is perhaps the most important thirst we need to have. The simple reason is because when we thirst for a fellowship with God, the other thirsts come. When we spend time with God, a desire for righteousness, holiness comes. When we spend time with God, we develop an hunger for his word and we want to please him. Pretty much the pursuit of God is a thirst for Divine fellowship. The first time we were introduced to the fact that God had fellowship with man was in Genesis 3.

Genesis 3: 8a
And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day…..

There is what we call the law of first mention. Meaning we can get some principles from the first time something was introduced. So lets get just 3 keys from this verse today and we can continue tomorrow:

3 KEYS TO QUALITY FELLOWSHIP
1. A  fellowship usually includes more than one person.
The fellowship is not complete with God by himself. We need to be actively involved for there to be an effective fellowship. God wants to fellowship with us. But do we look forward to spending time with him? For fellowship to be complete, we need to be involved and long for our time with God

2. A rigid schedule / Set time for fellowship.
God walked in the garden in the cool of the day. That means there is an approximate time when God, Adam, Eve will usually hang around together and chat and enjoy each other’s presence. We can fellowship with God in the bus, while in the kitchen or toilet. That is general fellowship. But we must still deliberately have an approximate fixed time of fellowship.

3. A quality time of fellowship
When God came into the garden, he gave his attention to Adam and Eve. He was not preoccupied or worried about the angels or the planets. It was exclusive quality one on one. We must somehow cut of other things. The time of fellowship is not the time to be on facebook or instagram or even pick up phones calls or even be texting while praying. Everything else needs to sort of be put on hold to focus exclusively on our time in God’s presence

Nuggets:
Our pursuit of God can never be a reality without an effective fellowship time with him

Our memory verse for June 2018

Psalm 42: 1

As the deer panteth after the water, so my soul pants after you O God.

Let’s take a few moment to learn our memory verse for this month by heart. It can be memorised in 2 lines:
Line 1:  As the deer panteth after the water
Line 2: so my soul pants after you O God.

Once you say it a few times it will stick.

Prayer focus: Our next level prayers:
Lord help me to become a thirsty, passionate seeker of you
