The Word: Genesis 3: 8 (KJV)

And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day…..

When they heard the sound of God strolling in the garden in the evening breeze, the Man and his Wife hid in the trees of the garden, hid from God.

KEYS TO DIVINE FELLOWSHIP – 02
‘Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat;’

We said that we need to thirst for Divine Fellowship. And we decided to pick a few points from Genesis 3. That was the first time we were given an insight into what Divine fellowship with man looked like. We mentioned 3 keys to Divine fellowship:
1. A  fellowship usually includes more than one person. So we need to be actively involved and look forward to it. God can’t do it just by himself.
2. A rigid schedule / Set time for fellowship: We need to have an approx fixed time
3. A quality time of fellowship: The length of the time is OK. But the quality is more important.

So lets pick up a few more points on Divine fellowship today :
4. Divine fellowship ought to be relaxing: When they heard the sound of God strolling in the garden in the evening breeze….  A few key words: 1. Stroll, 2. Garden, 3. Evening breeze. Those 3 words paint a picture of a relaxed time together.
So God did not come in the morning or afternoon. Adam was meant to be out taking care of the garden early in the day. So it would seem God came around when there won’t be any hurry, When everyone will be relaxed, when there is nothing pressing. True fellowship is designed to be relaxing. True fellowship is not designed to just be a request time. It is not designed to be primarily a warfare time either. God benefits nothing when we bombard him with requests and warfare prayers against our enemies but God gains something when we are just in his presence, basking in his glory and goodness and we just commune with the father of Spirits. In other words True fellowship starts and ends with worship and communion. Now there is a place for prayer requests and warfare but the place of the inner court is a place of worship and its not a place we hurry in and hurry out. There are times we fellowship and all we do is just say: ‘Father we love you, Jesus we love you, Spirit we love you……’ You will discover those periods of  natural / informal fellowship are very enriching.

Let’s summarise some of the points on true fellowship:
– True fellowship is relaxing
– True fellowship is not in a hurry
– True fellowship is built on worship
– True fellowship is done at a time when other things can be switched off
– True fellowship is best at a time when we won’t be disturbed.

Can we practice something please?
– The next time you have a time of prayers / fellowship, Can you try and switch off everything else from your mind. Can you go without any premeditated words or request in mind? Can you go with a blank mind and start with telling the father how you love him and miss him and hold him in high esteem? Can you talk to the trinity as if you are talking naturally to someone beside you. Even if all you say is I LOVE YOU FATHER, I LOVE YOU JESUS, I LOVE YOU HOLY SPIRIT, repeatedly… To be honest within minutes if not seconds, You will start to sense and feel the unusual presence of God where you are. I ‘ve experienced this. Can you let the Holy Spirit teach you how to really fellowship and minister to the father?

Our memory verse for June 2018

Psalm 42: 1

As the deer panteth after the water, so my soul pants after you O God.

Let’s take a few moment to learn our memory verse for this month by heart. It can be memorised in 2 lines:
Line 1:  As the deer panteth after the water
Line 2: so my soul pants after you O God.

Once you say it a few times it will stick.

Prayer focus: Our next level prayers:
Lord teach me the art of true fellowship…….
