I Have Purposed It, I Will Also Do It.

Isaiah 46: 9 – 10
The Word: Isaiah 46: 9 – 10 (KJV)

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Dig Deeper:
Isaiah 46: 11
(KJV)

11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

Think about it

I HAVE PURPOSED IT, I WILL ALSO DO IT!

It will be great to just keep giving thanks throughout this year. When we wake up in the morning, on our way to work or Uni, when we come home in the evening, every single opportunity….. We need to keep saying THANK YOU JESUS!

Our God is faithful, he deserves the praise. Why don’t you try it a few times today. Every time you remember his faithfulness to you so far, just take a pause and say THANK YOU JESUS! We don’t give him enough credit for who he is and what he does and the goodness we have enjoyed. Why not pause and say it right now as you are reading this: THANK YOU JESUS!

Our text today is powerful. Isaiah 46: 9-11. God starts to introduce himself as the one who declares what will happen in the future ahead of time. Then he goes ahead to say: ‘My counsel shall stand’ So when he has decided to do a particular thing no one can stop him.

Isaiah 14: 27
27 For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

God is simply unstoppable. Who can stand up to him?

Job 9: 4 puts it in a more compelling way:
‘His wisdom is profound, his power is vast. Who has resisted him and come out unscathed?

And then the good news for someone is in verse 11. God said ‘ I have purposed it, I will also do it. So you are the one to do it. You do not have the capacity to do it by yourself. He is the one to do it.
