The Word: Matthew 6: 31 – 32 (KJV)

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

BENEFITS OF PURSUING GOD
‘Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat;’

What are the benefits of seeking and thirsting after God?
1. You find him:
If you truly seek him with all you have, you find him. That is the first benefit – Jeremiah 29: 13

2. You will be filled:
When you thirst and desire righteousness, You will be filled – Matthew 5: 6

3. You will enjoy satisfaction:
When you thirst after God’s word and you look forward to learning new things about God, you will be filled.
When you pray and interceded on behalf of others, you will enjoy a sense of satisfaction when the things you prayed for comes to pass. When you also look forward to a time of prayers, God will meet you in those time of fellowship and your expectation will not disappointed. – Isaiah 55: 1-3

4. You will develop a deep personal relationship.
Seeking God opens us up to deeper realms of personal fellowship.
Jesus said ‘I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and sup with him. – Revelations 3: 20

5. Other things will be added to you
Jesus advised us to seek first the Kingdom of God. When the things of God becomes our priority, God will also make us priority. The cars, wealth, houses, will only be an addition. We shouldn’t make what is meant to be an additional thing to become the primary. Matthew 6: 33

6. Answered Prayers:
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven…. God’s ears is automatically deaf to the cry of the wicked. But when we seek him with the right heart and attitude, his ears are open to our prayers. So seeking him positions us for answered prayers – 2 Chronicles 7: 14

7. Healing of our land
Not only will God hear from heaven, He will then proceed to first of all, forgive our sins, then healing will follow:
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land2 Chronicles 7: 14

8. Exemption from evil and calamity

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. – Psalm 91: 14 – 16

9. Special Divine Preference:

17 And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. 18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. – Malachi 3: 17

Nuggets:
There is clearly tremendous blessings in seeking God.
