Happy New Year.
Welcome to 2018 – Our year of NEXT LEVEL. It is the mind of God to positively change our level, promote us, transfer us to the next phase of his plan for us.Next Level presupposes a change in the status quo. A positive step up. That is mind of God. However the Next Level is not automatic, there are responsibilities from us. The next level is also not a destination but a journey.The next level will require a desire and restlessness for change from you and I.- Jacob was restless. ‘He said ‘I will not let thee go unless thou bless me’
– Hannah was tired of the status quo. She wept sore and make a vow
– Jabez was agitated and said ‘If thou will only bless me’
– Bartimaeus was desperate. He cried ‘O thou son of David, have mercy on me’ Spiritual desperation is the oven in which the next level is cooked and prepared…….
The next level is impossible and unsustainable without spiritual fervency….What is God’s mind for 2018?1. NEWNESS:
God wants to do a new thing in our lives. He wants us give birth to new things.Revelation 21:4-5 KJV
[4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. [5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.God wants to wipe away tears and make all things new…..
Newness in your spiritual life, in your career, children. Newness in everything. 2. RESTRUCTURING:
God wants us to restructure and re-organise our lives. He wants us to reconsider our commitment in terms of our service, finances, time.
until God becomes first. Divine promotion is not assured 3. TAKING A STEP BACK TO JUMP FORWARD
Taking a step back is not always a negative thing. The catapult needs to be pulled back for the stone to fly. The trigger needs to be pulled backwards for the bullet to fly forward. A child needs to exit or die to the womb to be born to our world. Jesus had to die for the Holy Spirit to come and live inside of us. It is better for certain relationship to die for you to move forward. Leaving a job may be important for us to enter into destiny. Certain things that may seem like a step backward may actually be the springboard to jump forward.4. TAKING AWAY REPROACH
God wants to take away all reproach, and sorrows.
Reproach is a but. So every other thing is good but there is a negative. Reproach is a snag.
Naaman was an army general of Syria. A powerful man but there was a but. He had leprosy. Zechariah and Elisabeth loved God and served fervently but were barren. Some people have all the opportunity surrounding them, yet nothing works. God is about putting an end to all that. 2 Kings 2:19-21 KJV
[19] And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren. [20] And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him. [21] And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the Lord , I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land. In the text above: the location of the land was fantastic, but the water was bitter and the ground barren. But there was a change in the status quo. As we enter into 2018. God will be removing every reproach forever as we enter this new year IJN.
