SEASON ARE SYMBOLIC OF CHANGE
Right from the beginning, the earth was designed to function in seasons.:

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

So you have the winter, spring, summer, autumn. Even in sub Sahara Africa where it’s mainly rainy and dry season, you still have that difference in seasons. One key thing that season represents is change. Just like the season changes, we go through different seasons in life and the challenges and benefits of those seasons are different. For instance a toddler will only think of food and playing. However a child of 6 -10yrs starts to gradually understand that there is a responsibility to read and do well at school. By the time an adult is in early twenties and graduates from the Uni, then the responsibility of fending for your self, paying your own bills suddenly dawns on you. By the time you are married and you have babies, a percentage of your income goes towards taking care of your family and perhaps your parents. With children growing up, it can be a manic time taking them for different activities, teaching them, cooking for them etc. But a stage comes when the children eventually leaves home and it’s just you and your spouse again. You then have more time on your hands to do personal things.

So the first principle of seasons, we ‘d like to mention is that seasons represents change. Meaning our lives are unlikely to just go in a straight line trajectory. There will be blessings, there will be some disappointments, there will be laughter and occasionally some sadness, There is a time to join or be part of, there is a time to depart. And we must recognise these seasons so we are not fighting the plans of God. There will be times of victory but there will also be the occasional seemingly defeat. As believers every setback is not a defeat really because you can turn it around into victory. Atimes it may seem we lost a battle, but we can ultimately go back with the lesson learnt in the next battle and eventually win the war.

Since our lives are subject to change, we can also know that whatever challenge comes our way is subject to change. in other words, God can turn around a situation in a twinkle of an eye. We must never mistake a difficult season as our permanent story / destinies.

Psalm 130: 5
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Seasons are subject to change. In certain cases, we could prolong a good season indefinitely, if we know how to work by the principle of the word. God told Joshua that this book of the law must not depart from his mouth and he must meditate day and night. In other words, God was giving Joshua the principles through which he could enjoy unending seasons of prosperity. We must see our present difficult status as what it is truly. It is just a season.

Nuggets:
I can have unending season of prosperity through the principle of God’s word.

REVISTING THE PROMISES FOR THIS YEAR
As we have come to a weekend of seeking God and in a month of focus on God’s word, it is important to appreciate that God’s prophecy or promises are equally as powerful or potent as the scriptures.
The bible is documented promises or words inspired by the Holy Spirit. A direct word to the house is a Rhema (word in real time) which is equally as powerful and relevant for our year.

Our father said this year is our year of NEXT LEVEL and we said NEXT LEVEL is changing position upwards, moving to the next stage spiritually, physically, maritally as a Church and in every spect of our lives. But for many of us and the church does it look like next level right now? Perhaps many will answer: NO

For some people it might even look like a lower level. But we must not forget that God said we should be expectant of four things.
– New things. He will do New things
– Restructuring. Our lives will need to be restructured and reorganised
– It’s OK to take a step back in order to leap forward
– He will take away all reproach.

Remember Haggai 2:9 The glory of the latter shall be greater than the former. It may not yet look like NEXT LEVEL but God’s word is settled forever. That is what he said. Let’s key in and align ourselves to this.
