19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Think about it

NEW BEGINNING

God himself asks us not to dwell on the former things in our reading today. There can be a strong temptation to dwell on the past. To have self pity because of a difficult past. You could even have been cheated in the past. But God’s word is saying for us to move into the new, we must leave the past. We may need the help of the Holy Spirit here. The past ties us down. But vision liberates us into the future.
A shortsighted person stays on the past. A wise person looks at the bigger picture.

God then said: ‘Behold I will do a new thing. It shall spring forth, I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the dessert. A new thing to replace the losses of the past. That is our heart cry today….
